No, not like that; it takes a while to get used to but after you get into it you "sleep" about 4 times a day for a half hour or an hour and this basically forces your brain to go straight to REM sleep.
Hmmm. If I'm understanding you correctly, this would be forcing "REM Rebound" (people go into REM sleep faster and for longer periods of time due to deprivation).
If that's the case I'm not sure it's healthy...since non-REM sleep has been shown to have importance as well...The above video/documentary talks about this.
